playing more zelda this weekend I drew up this guy with a zant-esc hat... and once again I ended up with a sketch that I liked a lot more than the colored version. I guess this make sense as I spend more time drawing things and less time finishing them - it's still disappointing. any comments?

Liked the basic drawing, and I think the thing that is getting on the paint up is that it is in a pretty muted color space. Try going a little crazier with the lighting, throw in some accents, just do something a bit more out. I think if you try working some stronger warm colors they will set off the darks more. Just a thought
